FIA Day – 2026 was organized jointly by MITAA and MIT on 27^th March 2026

• Mr. Senthilnathan, President-MITAA welcomed the gathering after the invocation. He briefed on various activities of MITAA during his welcome address
• FIA Day event was presided over by Dr. V Kumaresan – Registrar (I/c)
• Annual Report of MIT was presented by the Dean of MIT, Dr. P. Jayashree detailing the activities of the Institute during the academic year, achievements by the students in various fields
• Dr. V Kumaresan, Registrar (I/c)-Anna University and Smt. Prema Srinivasan from the Founder’s Family extended their felicitations during their address to the gathering. Smt Prema Srinivasan handed over a cheque of Rs 5.00L to MIT.
• Mr. R Venkatasamy, Treasurer-MITAA, introduced the Outstanding Alumnus Awardee Mr. R Velusamy of 44^th batch Automobile Engineering, President – Automotive Business, Mahindra & Mahindra and read out the citation
• Mr. R Velusamy after accepting the Outstanding Alumnus award, while giving the Rajam Memorial Lecture recalled his early days as a trainee, how the grind at MIT helped him to cope with the challenges in his professional career. His Lecture was interlaced with few humorous anecdotes.
• Mr. K S Anbuselvan, V.P.-MITAA, introduced the Distinguished Alumnus Awardee Mr. Susi Ganeshan, 41^st Batch Automobile Engineering Alumnus and read out the citation
• Subsequently, Mr. Susi Ganeshan, popular Film Director, Founder of a Food Chain in Mumbai was honored with the Distinguished Alumnus Award
• Mr. N Ramachandran, Patron-MITAA introduced Mr. Elan Chelian, V.P. & M.D. – Sanmina India, Chief Guest for the event to the audience
• Mr. Elan Chelian commended the contributions of MIT and its Alumni in Nation Building. He committed to extend his organization’s support to MIT and its students in every possible way. He also extended his support for various initiatives taken up by MITAA
• Mr. Shaji Vinod, Jt Secy – MITAA presented the nominees for the Best Outgoing Student Awards (sponsored by our Alumnus Mr. PMS Prasad, Exec Director- Reliance Industries Ltd) and announced the names of the winners.
• Mr. Maria Antony, EC Member – MITAA handed over books to the Library, on behalf of MITAA Alumni who contribute regularly for the Book Bank project.
• The day’s event was concluded with formal Vote of Thanks by Mr. T Sankar, Secretary-MITAA
• The event was followed by High Tea for the dignitaries, Alumni who attended in large numbers and all students

MITAA and MIT jointly celebrated FIA Day (Founder, Institute and Alumni Day) – 2025 11^th April 2025

• The function presided over by the Registrar, Anna University Prof J Prakash had Shri P Ravichandran, President – Danfoss India as the Chief Guest
• Following the tradition, Mr. Senthilnathan, President-MITAA welcomed the gathering after the invocation. He touched upon various activities undertaken by MITAA with the support of the Alumni across the Globe, Anna University and specially, the college, MIT.
• Prof K Ravichandran, Dean – MIT, presented the Annual Report of MIT. Achievements of the students in various competitions, sports and other activities were detailed in the report
• Prof J Prakash, while extending his felicitations, emphasized on the importance of the bonding of Alumni with the alma mater. He congratulated MITAA for all the yeomen service to MIT and its students
• Smt. Prema Srinivasan from the Founder’s Family recalled how her grandfather spent his life for MIT
• Mr. H S R Sharma, Past President – MITAA, read out the citation for the Outstanding Alumnus Awardee Dr. E Pannirselvam, Radar Consultant, Magna Electronics, an Alumnus of 36^th Batch Electronics.
• Dr. Pannirselvam in his acceptance speech touched upon the Radar technology and its importance in today’s fast changing world. He also remembered the sacrifices made by his family that enabled him to join MIT course, coming from a village background.
• Mr. K S Anbuselvan, V.P.-MITAA, read out the citation for the Distinguished Alumnus Awardee Mr. P K Murugan, President – JSW Steels, 40^th Batch Automobile Engineering Alumnus
• After accepting the D A award, Mr. Murugan, recalled his continued association with MIT and his commitment to continue supporting the alma mater through MITAA.
• Mr. N Ramachandran, Patron-MITAA introduced Mr. P Ravichandran, President – Danfoss India
• Mr. Ravichandran, the Chief Guest discussed about the trending technologies and the growth of Danfoss globally. He assured his support to explore employment opportunities to the students of MIT. He also commended the commitment of MITAA in providing different support activities.
• Mr. Venakatasamy, Treasurer – MITAA presented the nominees for the Best Outgoing Student Awards (sponsored by our Alumnus Mr. PMS Prasad, Exec Director- Reliance Industries Ltd) and announced the names of the winners.
• MITAA handed over books to the Library, on behalf of MITAA Alumni who contribute regularly for the Book Bank project.
• This was followed by distribution of Prizes, medals, cash awards to students who excelled in their academics
• The day’s event was concluded with formal Vote of Thanks by Mr. T Sankar, Secretary-MITAA

FIA Day was celebrated by MITAA and MIT on 5^th April 2024

• The FIA Day function was presided over by the Vice Chancellor of Anna University Dr. Prof. Velraj with Mr. Suresh Raman – V.P. & Regional Head, TCS as the Chief Guest
• Mr. Senthilnathan, President-MITAA welcomed the gathering after the invocation.
• Dean of MIT, Dr. K Ravichandran presented the annual report detailing the activities of the Institute, achievements by the students in various fields
• Dr. J Prakash, Registrar-Anna University and Smt. Prema Srinivasan from the Founder’s Family extended their feilicitations during their address to the gathering.
• Mr. Senthamil Arasu, Patron-MITAA, introduced the Outstanding Alumnus Awardee and read out the citation
• Mr. N Ramachandran of 22^nd Batch Electronics, M.D. – MEL Systems & Services Ltd was honoured with the Outstanding Alumnus Award. Accepting the award and in his thanks giving speech, Mr. Ramachandran gave Rajam Memorial Endowment Lecture
• Mr. Karthikeyan Nagarajan, EC Member-MITAA, , introduced the Distinguished Alumnus Awardee and read out the citation
• Subsequently, Smt. Saraswathy Venkatasamy, CEO – Pointel Solutions, 39^th Batch Automobile Alumna was honored with the Distinguished Alumna Award
• Mr. Anbuselvan – V.P., MITAA introduced the Life Time Achievement Awardee Mr. CVS Gopalan, Advisor-MITAA. All the dignitaries present at the event felicitated and honored Mr. CVS Gopalan with the Award
• Dr. Prof R Velraj, VC-Anna Uvy made a special address stressing on the importance of Alumni contribution to the alma mater in its growth
• Mr. Suresh Raman, the Chief Guest for the event commended the contributions of MIT, Anna University to Nation Building and extended his support for various initiatives taken up by MITAA

FIA Day was celebrated on June 11^th, 2022 at Rajam Hall.

• Mr. Ananthaseshan, MD – Carborundum Universal was the Chief Guest for the event with Prof R Velraj, Vice Chanecellor – Anna University being the Guest of Honour
• The FIA Day programme commenced after invocation, with the welcome address by Mr. H S R Sharma, President-MITAA
• Prof J Prakash, Dean – MIT presented the Annual Report highlighting the achievements of the Students, Faculty
• Prof G Ravikumar– Registrar, AU and Mrs Prema Srinivasan of the Founder’s Family extended their Felicitations highlighting the achievements and growth of the Institute
• After being honoured with the Outstanding Alumnus Award, Mr. R Balaji of 14^th Batch Instrumentation gave Rajam Memorial Lecture touching upon the sacrifices made by the great visionary, the steady growth made by MIT ever since its inception
• Distinguished Alumnus Awardee Mr. C Shunmuganathan, M D – Sri Kaliswari Metal Powder Ltd, a 37^th batch Alumnus addressed the gathering recalling his student days and touching upon the challenges of “Family Business”
• Mr. T M Jawaharlal, Patron-MITAA was honoured with the Life Time Achievement Award and subsequently he addressed the audience, explaining the growth of MITAA over the last 5 decades
• Special address was given by Prof R Velraj, Vice Chancellor
• Keynote address was given by Mr. N Ananthaseshan who discussed about the challenges in the Industry, role of Alumni in the growth of any Educational Institute
• This was followed by presentation of Best Outgoing Student Award sponsored by Mr PMS Prasad, ED- Reliance Industries Ltd
• Mr. T Sankar, Secretary-MITAA proposed Vote of Thanks after presentation of awards, medals to rank holders, high performers of the students

FIA Day 2019 was organized on 22^nd March 2019 at Rajam Hall, MIT. This was jointly conducted by MITAA and MIT

• Mangatram Sharma, Principal Secretary, TN Govt Higher Education Department was the Chief Guest of the event while Dr. M K Surappa, Vice Chancellor – Anna University was the Guest of Honour
• H S R Sharma, President-MITAA welcomed the gathering after the invocation. In the welcome speech, he highlighted on various welfare activities taken up by MITAA for the benefit of MIT students and MIT. He thanked Alumni fraternity for their continued support and appealed for the continuation of the same.
• T Thiyagarajan, Dean – MIT, presented the Annual Report of MIT. He detailed the excellence achieved by MIT students during the academic year in the fields of Technology, Sports at State, National and International level competitions.
• J Kumar, Registrar – Anna University and Mr. V Balasubramnian from the Founder’s family extended their felicitations
• T M Jawaharlal, Patron – MITAA, read out the citation for the Outstanding Alumnus Awardee Mr. S Narayanan, Director – Bimetal Bearings Ltd, an Alumnus of 31^st Batch Automobile Engineering
• Narayanan after accepting the OA Award, thanked MITAA for bestowing the honour upon him and gave Rajam Memorial Lecture in which he emphasized on importance of fundamentals and how MIT helped him to learn and grow to the Management level of his organization.
• R Balaji, Patron – MITAA, read out the citation for the Distinguished Alumnus Awardee Rear Admiral V Mohan Doss of Indian Navy and 35^th Batch Electronics Alumnus
• Rear Admiral Mohan Doss accepting the award recalled his MIT days, how he was selected for Indian Navy during his second-year studies itself. He promised to extend his support to MIT students by way providing Aircraft / related parts to the Aeronautics Faculty. He also committed to take active part in MITAA activities that would benefit not only MIT students but the Alumni too.
• Vice Chancellor M K Surappa in his address, emphasized on the importance of research-oriented education and outlined the efforts of the University in this regard
• Shri Mangatram Sharma, IAS in his keynote address touched upon the efforts of the Govt of Tamil Nadu to increase the standard of Education across all Universities and committed his full support to Anna University in achieving its goal
• R Madhavan, EC Member – MITAA, introduced the nominees for the Best Outgoing student (male & female) award instituted by Mr P M S Prasad, Exec Director, Reliance Industries Ltd and an Alumnus of Instrumentation Deptt. Winners (one male and one female student) were awarded with cash prize of Rs 35,000/- each
• Mr R Venkatasamy, Treasurer – MITAA made a brief presentation on Industrial Training and its importance.
• MITAA handed over books to the Library, on behalf of MITAA Alumni who contribute regularly for the Book Bank project.
• Subsequently students who excelled in their academics were awarded Prizes, medals, cash awards
• K Lakshmi Shankar, Secretary – MITAA proposed Vote of thanks.
• The function concluded with National Anthem followed by high tea

Founder’s, Institute and Alumini Day was celebrated with quite enthusiastically on 23^rd March 2018.

• Mr. Robert Burgess  – Consul General, US Consulate Chennai  was the Key note speaker.
• Dr. K. Sivan – Chairman , ISRO was the Guest of Honour and spoke about the Space Programme of the country.

• Dr. S. Ganesan – Registrar, Anna University and Mr. V. Balasubramaniam of Founder’s family extended their felicitations
• Mr. T. M. Jawaharlal, Mr. R. Balaji and Mr. N. Ramachandran, Patron and Past- Presidents of MITAA felicitated the Outstanding Alumnus, Distinguished Alumnus and the Chief guest respectively
• The Outstanding Alumnus awardee  Mr. K. V. Bhima Rao  2^nd  Batch Electronics – Retd. Chief Engineer AIR & DD  delivered the Rajam Memorial Lecture. Very nostalgic about his interaction with the Founder and the early Professors of the Institute
• Mr. B. Senthilnathan – Jt. Secretary felicitated the Guest of Honour
• Mr. HSR Sharma of MITAA felicitated the Best Outgoing Student awardee
• Mr. Lakshmi Shankar, Secretary MITTAA proposed Vote of Thanks to conclude the function

• The Outstanding Alumnus awardee  Mr. S. Madhavan, 31^st Batch Electronics – Founder Director of Green Quotient Systems  delivered the Rajam Memorial Lecture
• The Distinguished Alumnus awardee Mr. KRSR. Krishna – V.P (Engg) , Petrofac International, Sharjah  regaled the audience with his fond remembrance of the MIT days
• Mr. Michael Brielmaier  – President and M.D of For Ford India Limited, the Chief Guest of the event gave his Key note address
• Mr. HSR Sharma of MITAA announced and presented the Best Outgoing Student awardees
• Mr. Lakshmi Shankar, Secretary MITTAA proposed the Vote of Thanks and concluded the function.

Founder’s, Institute and Alumini Day was celebrated with great pomp and joy on 24th March 2016.

• The Outstanding Alumnus awardee Mr. V. Nagendran of 14^th batch, Chairman – Nagman Instruments & Electronics delivered the Rajam Memorial Endowment Lecture
• The Distinguished Alumnus awardee Mr. M. Rajagopalan of 32^nd batch, M D of Kovai Maruthi Paper Board gave a wonderful speech on his environment friendly industrial initiatives.
• Mr. Josh Foulger, MD Foxconn India, Chief Guest for the event spoke eloquently on how to balance life.
• Mr. T.M. Jawaharlal, Mr. R. Balaji and Mr. N. Ramachandran, Patron and Past- Presidents of MITAA felicitated the Outstanding Alumnus, Distinguished Alumnus and the Chief guest respectively.
• Mr. H.S.R Sharma of MITAA spoke about the nomination process of selecting the Best Outstanding Student for 2015-2016. Mr. R. Vignesh of ECE won the award.
• 12^th batch Dr. V.S. Subramanian family donated books to the library.
• Meritorious students were given prizes.
• Mr. Lakshmi Shankar, Secretary MITTAA concluded the event with a formal vote of thanks.

The Founder’s Day along with Institute and Alumni Day was conducted on 7^th April 2015.

• A. Rajadurai, Dean MIT gave the Annual Report on the Institute covering academic, sports and extra curricular achievements of the students

• The first batch alumnus  T.A.S. Balagopaldelivered the Rajam memorial endowment lecture after receiving the Outstanding Alumnus award. He spoke about the fond memories on his interaction with the founder and the institute when it all started.
• B. Sundarrajan, Professor IISc-Bangalore, of 31^stbatch was given the Distinguished Alumnus award and he gave a short talk on his institute days.
• V. Balasubramanianof Founder’s family spoke eloquently on Shri Rajam, the Founder of MIT
• T.M. JawaharlalPatron, Mr. R. Balaji, Mr. N. Ramachandran Past President also addressed the gathering while Mr. K. Lakshimi Shankar Secretary presented the Vote of Thanks
