FIA Day was celebrated by MITAA and MIT on 5th April 2024
The FIA Day function was presided over by the Vice Chancellor of Anna University Prof. Velraj with Mr. Suresh Raman – V.P. & Regional Head, TCS as the Chief Guest
Senthilnathan, President-MITAA welcomed the gathering after the invocation.
Dean of MIT, K Ravichandran presented the annual report detailing the activities of the Institute, achievements by the students in various fields
J Prakash, Registrar-Anna University and Smt. Prema Srinivasan from the Founder’s Family extended their feilicitations during their address to the gathering.
Senthamil Arasu, Patron-MITAA, introduced the Outstanding Alumnus Awardee and read out the citation
N Ramachandran of 22nd Batch Electronics, M.D. – MEL Systems & Services Ltd was honoured with the Outstanding Alumnus Award. Accepting the award and in his thanks giving speech, Mr. Ramachandran gave Rajam Memorial Endowment Lecture
Karthikeyan Nagarajan, EC Member-MITAA, , introduced the Distinguished Alumnus Awardee and read out the citation
Subsequently, Saraswathy Venkatasamy, CEO – Pointel Solutions, 39th Batch Automobile Alumna was honored with the Distinguished Alumna Award
Anbuselvan – V.P., MITAA introduced the Life Time Achievement Awardee Mr. CVS Gopalan, Advisor-MITAA. All the dignitaries present at the event felicitated and honored Mr. CVS Gopalan with the Award
Dr. Prof R Velraj, VC-Anna Uvy made a special address stressing on the importance of Alumni contribution to the alma mater in its growth
Mr. Suresh Raman, the Chief Guest for the event commended the contributions of MIT, Anna University to Nation Building and extended his support for various initiatives taken up by MITAA
Mr. Shaji Vinod presented the nominees for the Best Outgoing Student Awards (sponsored by our Alumnus PMS Prasad, Exec Director- Reliance Industries Ltd) and announced the names of the winners.
Mr. P Thyagarajan handed over books to the Library, on behalf of MITAA Alumni who contribute regularly for the Book Bank project.
The day’s event was concluded with formal Vote of Thanks by T Sankar, Secretary-MITAA

The FIA Day programme commenced after invocation, with the welcome address by H S R Sharma, President-MITAA
Prof J Prakash, Dean – MIT presented the Annual Report highlighting the achievements of the Students, Faculty
Prof G Ravikumar– Registrar, AU and Mrs Prema Srinivasan of the Founder’s Family extended their Felicitations highlighting the achievements and growth of the Institute
After being honoured with the Outstanding Alumnus Award, R Balaji of 14th Batch Instrumentation gave Rajam Memorial Lecture touching upon the sacrifices made by the great visionary, the steady growth made by MIT ever since its inception
Distinguished Alumnus Awardee C Shunmuganathan, M D – Sri Kaliswari Metal Powder Ltd, a 37th batch Alumnus addressed the gathering recalling his student days and touching upon the challenges of “Family Business”
T M Jawaharlal, Patron-MITAA was honoured with the Life Time Achievement Award and subsequently he addressed the audience, explaining the growth of MITAA over the last 5 decades
Special address was given by Prof R Velraj, Vice Chancellor
Keynote address was given by N Ananthaseshan who discussed about the challenges in the Industry, role of Alumni in the growth of any Educational Institute
This was followed by presentation of Best Outgoing Student Award sponsored by Mr PMS Prasad, ED- Reliance Industries Ltd

The Distinguished Alumnus awardee Mr. M. Rajagopalan of 32nd batch, M D of Kovai Maruthi Paper Board gave a wonderful speech on his environment friendly industrial initiatives.
Mr. Josh Foulger, MD Foxconn India, Chief Guest for the event spoke eloquently on how to balance life.
Mr. T.M. Jawaharlal, Mr. R. Balaji and Mr. N. Ramachandran, Patron and Past- Presidents of MITAA felicitated the Outstanding Alumnus, Distinguished Alumnus and the Chief guest respectively.
Mr. H.S.R Sharma of MITAA spoke about the nomination process of selecting the Best Outstanding Student for 2015-2016. Mr. R. Vignesh of ECE won the award.
12th batch Dr. V.S. Subramanian family donated books to the library.
Meritorious students were given prizes.

The Founder’s Day along with Institute and Alumni Day was conducted on 7th April 2015.

The first batch alumnus T.A.S. Balagopaldelivered the Rajam memorial endowment lecture after receiving the Outstanding Alumnus award. He spoke about the fond memories on his interaction with the founder and the institute when it all started.
B. Sundarrajan, Professor IISc-Bangalore, of 31stbatch was given the Distinguished Alumnus award and he gave a short talk on his institute days.

Mr. K. Balasubramanian Former President and Chairman Texas Instruments was honoured as the Outstanding Alumnus
Mrs. Hema Gopal, of 30th batch Electronics, Vice President-TCS was honoured with the Distinguished Alumnus Award
After the acceptance speeches of the Awardees, Mr. Gopal Srinivasan CMD of TVS Electronics addressed the gathering touching upon the contribution of MIT Alumni in TVS Electronics and other TVS Group companies.

Mr R Balaji, President – MITAA gave the welcome address in which the VC, Dean were present along with Mr. N Lakshminarayanan, Vice Chairman – CTS
After the Presidential address by the VC, Dr. P Kaliraj, Dean Dr. S Thamarai Selvi presented the annual report on MIT and the activities during the academic year 2012-2013.
Mr. K. Thiagarajan of 23rd batch, GASCO-Abu Dhabi was honoured as the Outstanding Alumnus. He gave a very passionate talk about the Institute and the relations he continues to have with all the alumni
Dr. K. Sivam of 29th batch Project Director PSLV was honoured as the Distinguished Alumnus. He gave an update on the space activities of ISRO
Mr. N. Lakshmi Narayanan Vice Chairman CTS delivered the keynote address. CTS has a special relation with MIT and they continue to sponsor scholarships
V. Balasubramanianof Founder family while extending his felicitations, spoke on the need for the skills development
