THE LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD FOR 2024

Madras Institute of Technology, Chromepet Campus of Anna University, a unique Educational Institution was started in 1949   by Sri. C. Rajam to impart education on unconventional engineering courses like Aeronautical, Automobile, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering streams.  With different skill sets compared to the conventional engineering graduates, MIT students were in great demand ever since its inception.

MITAA has the pleasure of honouring Mr. C.V.S. Gopalan of 17th Batch Electronics Engineering with Lifetime Achievement Award for the year 2024.

He did his B.Sc Physics from AM Jain College, Madras. He is a 1968 Electronics Engineering graduate from the Madras Institute of Technology, Chennai.

He started his career with Plastics resins & chemicals Sahupuram. He then worked with Nayangal National Fertilisers, Esjey Engineering, Bombay all in chemical and fertilizers.  He then moved onto Kuwait, Qatar & Saudi Arabia for a stint with Oil companies.  From Gulf he moved to Nairobi, South Korea and Malaysia. He had been an Operations expert in Petroleum industry.

Ever since he moved back to India in the early 2000, he has been actively involved in all the activities of MIT Alumni Association and AMITA TRUST. He is the moving encyclopaedia of MITians and has good connect and networking with all alumni both seniors and juniors worldwide.

His role in fundraising for Amita Trust is phenomenal.  He was the connect for MIT students & faculty with the alumni. Lot of Guest lectures by visiting alumni were arranged by him.

He is gifted with the abundant support and love of his wife Shyamala from Kolar Gold Fields, the main pillar for his official success and enormous contribution to MITAA and students. His elder son Bharat Gopalan is Head of Emerging Financial Markets Bridport Co, Geneva.  His younger son Mukundh Gopalan is M.D GLB Logistics Capital Partners, Hongkong. He is blessed with a grandson.

MITAA takes great pleasure in honouring Mr. C.V.S. Gopalan with the Lifetime Achievement award in the year 2024 and wishes him all the good health and a very peaceful Life ahead.
