Founder’s, Institute and Alumini Day was celebrated with quite enthusiastically on 23rd March 2018.
AGM – 2024 was held on 22-09-2024 at Anna University Alumni Club at 6.00pm.
The AGM attended by about 60 Alumni at the venue and about 100 Alumni through virtual mode commenced as the President called the AGM to order.
President Mr. Senthilnathan commenced his Welcome Address by paying respects to the Alumni who left for their Heavenly Abode during the previous year. All members joined him by observing a one min silence. In his Welcome address Mr. Senthilnathan touched upon various activities by MITAA in the past one year. Significant ones like conducting the inaugural and valedictory functions of MIT’s 75 years of existence, construction of MIT Connect Point, of Lab Equipment and High-end Server to the Instrumentation Deptt by Alumni. Special mention was made to thank Alumni who supported for the success of providing 75 Guest Lectures during the year. The President also mentioned about various initiatives taken up to provide Internships for students of MIT.
Secretary Mr T Sankar commenced his Presentation by seeking approval to adopt the MoM of the AGM -2023. Subsequently he presented the Annual Report for 2023-2024. During his presentation he detailed some more activities by MITAA during the year. Copy of the report, that was already circulated through email was given to all members present at the AGM, was subsequently adopted by the General Body.
Annual report of AMITA Trust was presented by Trustee Mr N Ramachandran.
Treasurer Dr. R Venkatasamy presented the Financial Reports for MITAA and AMITA Trust in detail. He answered various queries from the members on the Financials. The Financial report and proposal to continue the auditors were also adopted during the AGM.
President Mr Senthilnathan presented the model of “Alumni Centre” to be constructed in place of Alumni House inside MIT. He sought the support of Alumni Fraternity for the construction of the same.
Following this, Eminent Alumnus Awards, Young Achiever Award, Eminent Entrepreneur Award and Goldies Award (for 23rd batch) were presented. The awardees thanked MITAA for the recognition during their acceptance speech.
Finally, the Election of Office Bearers and EC was taken up with Mr. T R Senthamil Arasu as Returning Officer. Mr. Arasu informed the General Body that only one nomination each for various Office bearers posts and for 7 EC members slots was received. Hence all those were elected unanimously and invited the new team of Office Bearers and EC members to take over. The following Alumni constitute the new team.
Finally, the newly elected President Mr. Senthilnathan thanked the Alumni and the General Body for the opportunity given to him and the team. With many new and young faces in the team, he promised to make MITAA more vibrant and active in the years to come.
The AGM concluded as the President adjourned the same.
After the National Anthem, Dinner was served to all members, spouses present at the event.
AGM of MITAA held on 24th September 2023 at Anna University Alumni Club, New Conference Hall.
President Mr B Senthilnathan called the AGM to Order after ascertaining the availability of quorum.
Fifty two (52) Alumni Members attended the meeting and the meeting started with invocation. President welcomed the members and addressed the gathering.
Before the welcome address, the President made Obituary reference and a one minute silence was observed as a mark of respect to the departed souls from our alumni fraternity. Subsequently, President welcomed the gathering. Made references to the growth of MITAA & AMITA Trust with the support of the Alumni fraternity. The Minutes of the AGM of the FY 2021-2022 was adopted by the General body.
Secretary Mr.T.Sankar presented the Annual Report and it was adopted by the General Body. Printed copies of these reports were given to all members who have attended the AGM.
Treasurer Mr.R.Venkatasamy presented the audited accounts reports for MITAA and AMITA Trust and both were passed by the General body. Printed copies of these reports were given to all members who have attended the AGM.
Mr.R.Venkatasamy made a mention that the auditors M/s Achutha & Mallik Associates can be appointed for one more year with no change in the existing Audit Fee. This was also accepted by the General Body.
Mr.N.Ramachandran, Trustee – AMITA Trust briefed the General Body on AMITA Trust activities.
The AGM was followed by honouring the Eminent Alumni, Young Achiever, Eminent Entrepreneur and Goldies Awardees.

Goldies – MITians who have completed 50 years after graduation were honoured with a memento. This year, MITians of 22nd batch, 1973 pass out were honoured. Mementos were presented to the following Goldies present. A few alumni of earlier batches were also honoured.

Mr. Kalyanaraman T.No 22086 donated Rs 5000/ for the Book bank. Mr.Senthilnathan, President announced that his batch mates (32nd batch) had their “Ruby Re Union” during this month and they will be sponsoring one Chair – Professor of Practice in MIT for a period of three years at a cost of Rs.10 lakhs per annum totaling to Rs 30 Lakhs for 3 years.
Mr.Ketharaman, EC Member proposed Vote of Thanks. President Mr. Senthilnathan adjourned the AGM. The meeting was concluded with National Anthem.
The Meeting was followed by Lunch.
MITAA AGM 2022 was held on 09th October 2022 at Anna University Alumni Club, New Conference Hall from 06:00 PM to 08:30 PM.
President called the AGM to Order after ascertaining the availability of Quorum. About 70 Alumni attended the AGM which commenced with invocation.
President Mr. H S R Sharma commenced the proceedings with his welcome address. After making the obituary reference and paying respects to the departed souls of Alumni, President made references to the growth of MITAA & AMITA Trust with the support of the Alumni fraternity. He thanked Alumni fraternity, University, MIT and all stakeholders for the support extended to him, MITAA during his 4 year stint as the President. He also appealed to the Dean and the University to make amendment so that all outgoing students automatically are enrolled as Life Members of the Alumni Assn.
Secretary Mr. T Sankar presented the annual report for the year 2021-2022 highlighting on various activities undertaken by MITAA facing the pandemic challenges. MITAA continued to provide the good services, the financial support to students despite facing challenges.
Treasurer Mr. R Venkatasamy presented the audited accounts reports for MITAA and AMITA Trust and both were was passed by the General body. Mr. N Ramachandran briefed the General Body on AMITA Trust activities.
Dr J Prakash, the Dean-MIT spoke and shared the various improvements & plans for the growth of MIT and continue to have a good interaction with the Alumni & the Institute. He also made a mention about the new courses started at the UG level and changes to be made on courses offered at PG level so that more seats are filled.
This was followed by honouring the Eminent Alumni and Goldies of MITAA. Mr. B Senthil Nathan Vice President conducted the proceedings.

Mr. Senthilnathan, the newly elected President spoke and assured that he and his team will take forward the activities of MITAA in a befitting manner while thanking the Alumni for having elected him as the President.
Mr. K.L.P Shaji Vinod, Jt. Secretary proposed Vote of Thanks after which the AGM was concluded with National Anthem.

AGM of MITAA was held on 26-12-2021 at Anna University Alumni Club. From 10:30 AM to 12:45 PM.
After ascertaining the availability of quorum President Mr H S R Sharma called the AGM to order. 43 Alumni were present at the venue while many Alumni joined the same through Live Streaming.
After the invocation, President commenced is Welcome Address with Obituary reference, paying respects to the departed souls from Alumni fraternity. President detailed on various activities undertaken by MITAA despite the pandemic situation hampering many an activity.
Secretary Mr.T. Sankar presented the annual report of MITAA activities while the Treasurer Mr .R.Venkatasamy presented the audited accounts reports for MITAA and AMITA Trust
Mr. M R Senthamil Arasu briefed the General Body on AMITA Trust activities virtually from Kuwait.
A few amendments to Memorandum of Association & bye- laws of MITAA were proposed and these were passed by the General body after due deliberations.
The AGM was followed by Honoring the Outstanding Alumnus, Distinguished Alumnus, Eminent Alumni and Goldies of MITAA. Mr.B Senthil Nathan Vice President compiled and presented it.
The Outstanding Alumnus Award for the year 2020 was given to Mr. N Raja (T.No 35228) MD & CEO –Toyota Financial Services India Ltd in recognition of his contribution in the field of Automobiles & Social commitment.
The Distinguished Alumnus Award for the year 2020 was given to Mr. Ilango Krishnamoorthy, (T.No 36206) in recognition of his extraordinary contribution in the field of Printing Technology & Community activities.
