MITAA AGM 2025

AGM – 2025 was held on 20-09-2025 at Anna University Alumni Club at 6.00pm.

The AGM was well attended by the Alumni fraternity in person and many viewed through video streaming.

President called the AGM to order and commenced the proceedings.

Mr. B. Senthilnathan in his Welcome Address initially paid respects to the Alumni who left us during the previous year. Alumni present at the venue also paid their respects by observing a one min silence. In his Welcome address Mr. B. Senthilnathan briefed the members on various activities of MITAA during the previous year with a special mention on efforts to construct the MITAA Skill Development Centre inside MIT and sought support from Alumni from all over.

Mr. T. Sankar, Secretary started off his presentation seeking approval to adopt the MoM of the AGM – 2024. After this, the Annual Report for 2024-2025 was presented. He gave a graphical representation on the growth of beneficiaries of AMITA Trust scholarships in MIT, over the years. Printed copy of the report was made available to all present in the meeting. After providing clarity on some of the points raised by members, the same was adopted by the General Body.

Mr. N. Ramachandran, Trustee – AMITA Trust gave a report on AMITA Trust for the year passed.

Treasurer Dr. R. Venkatasamy presented the Financial Reports for both MIT Alumni Association and AMITA Trust in detail. Doubts raised by some members were clarified. Subsequently, the Financial report and proposal to continue the auditors were also adopted by the General Body.

Young Achiever Award:

  • Mr. P. Kasi Visvanathan – 20037117, Auto

Eminent Professor Award:

  • Dr. N. Pappa – Instrumentation

Goldies Award:

For the 24th batch alumni passed out in 1975.

The awardees thanked MITAA for the recognition during their acceptance speech.

Dean of MIT, Dr. Jayashree addressed the Alumni and thanked MITAA for the continuous support extended to MIT in different ways. She appealed that this may be continued always.

The AGM concluded as the President adjourned the same.

AGM concluded with National Anthem.

All members, spouses and other family members who were present had dinner after the event.
