MITAA and MIT jointly celebrated FIA Day (Founder, Institute and Alumni Day) – 2025 11th April 2025
- The function presided over by the Registrar, Anna University Prof J Prakash had Shri P Ravichandran, President – Danfoss India as the Chief Guest
- Following the tradition, Mr. Senthilnathan, President-MITAA welcomed the gathering after the invocation. He touched upon various activities undertaken by MITAA with the support of the Alumni across the Globe, Anna University and specially, the college, MIT.
- Prof K Ravichandran, Dean – MIT, presented the Annual Report of MIT. Achievements of the students in various competitions, sports and other activities were detailed in the report
- Prof J Prakash, while extending his felicitations, emphasized on the importance of the bonding of Alumni with the alma mater. He congratulated MITAA for all the yeomen service to MIT and its students
- Smt. Prema Srinivasan from the Founder’s Family recalled how her grandfather spent his life for MIT
- Mr. H S R Sharma, Past President – MITAA, read out the citation for the Outstanding Alumnus Awardee Dr. E Pannirselvam, Radar Consultant, Magna Electronics, an Alumnus of 36th Batch Electronics.
- Dr. Pannirselvam in his acceptance speech touched upon the Radar technology and its importance in today’s fast changing world. He also remembered the sacrifices made by his family that enabled him to join MIT course, coming from a village background.
- Mr. K S Anbuselvan, V.P.-MITAA, read out the citation for the Distinguished Alumnus Awardee Mr. P K Murugan, President – JSW Steels, 40th Batch Automobile Engineering Alumnus
- After accepting the D A award, Mr. Murugan, recalled his continued association with MIT and his commitment to continue supporting the alma mater through MITAA.
- Mr. N Ramachandran, Patron-MITAA introduced Mr. P Ravichandran, President – Danfoss India
- Mr. Ravichandran, the Chief Guest discussed about the trending technologies and the growth of Danfoss globally. He assured his support to explore employment opportunities to the students of MIT. He also commended the commitment of MITAA in providing different support activities.
- Mr. Venakatasamy, Treasurer – MITAA presented the nominees for the Best Outgoing Student Awards (sponsored by our Alumnus Mr. PMS Prasad, Exec Director- Reliance Industries Ltd) and announced the names of the winners.
- MITAA handed over books to the Library, on behalf of MITAA Alumni who contribute regularly for the Book Bank project.
- This was followed by distribution of Prizes, medals, cash awards to students who excelled in their academics
- The day’s event was concluded with formal Vote of Thanks by Mr. T Sankar, Secretary-MITAA
